About Plastira Lake topoguide
Plastira Lake topoguide is a digital field guide for hikers and nature lovers. It contains routes, descriptions and photos for 15 hiking trails around Plastira Lake and the Eastern Agrafa mountain range, Thessaly, Greece.
Plastira Lake space is 1 of the most genuine mountain landscapes of continental Greece. Eastern Agrafa mountain range is 1 of the less explored regions of Greece. "Agrafa" means "unwritten, as this are was so secluded and remote, that the authorities of all periods did not included it in the official taxes lists.
The app offers detailed offline maps and an extensive introduction on geography, the history and the paths of Plastira Lake space and the Eastern Agrafa mountain range, including a really big chapter on the rich nature of the area.
The application offers also a useful list of POIs with a comprehensive search engine.
The trails list contains moderate hiking trails, as well as difficult mountaineering crossings.
In the field, the application identifies the nearest adventure, guides you to it and then along it by displaying messages and warnings on each junction or other necessary location. On every Point of Interest, photos and texts are displayed on the map. If the hiker gets off-trail, the application indicates the shorter method to obtain back safely.
The cartographic company AnaDigit, creator of the application, has issued previously hundreds of detailed hiking maps for Greece (eg. maps of Menalon Trail, Mt Taygetos, Mt Olympus, Crete, Zagori, Sifnos, Naxos and other Aegean islands). To build the app and ensure data accuracy, all paths of Plastira Lake and the Eastern Agrafa spaces have been revised during Fall 2019.
